From the refined cuisine of Bertinoro’s Hotel Belvedere to the more down to earth Ca’ de be’ (literally local dialect for : ‘the house of drink’) you will be simply spoilt for choice.
Romagna is, in fact, renowned for its excellent cuisine and Romagnoli (its inhabitants) are very fond of good food and drink. This area is particularly famous for its hand made pastas, such as Tortelli , huge fresh pasta ‘cushions’ filled with anything from plain ricotta cheese to more refined wild mushrooms. Piadina, wheat griddle cakes filled with ham and cheese are Romagna’s answer to fast food; this speciality is available in any of the town’s wine bars whose cellars offer a choice of dozens of excellent local wines. Of course pizza too is easily available anywhere in town, as is Italian ice cream made only with fresh ingredients.
Naturally, guests wishing to venture further afield in the evenings, will find excellent fish restaurants in any of the nearby seaside resorts, as well as one of the best restaurants in Italy La Frasca at Castrocaro Terme.
